Dear AMMRL Members:

Thank you all very much for your responses to my previous e-mail.
The following is a summary for messages only.

*********

1. Wuhan Institute of Physics has a MSL-400. Two years ago, they add micro
image system on it. I am not sure how much money they spend to buy it
from Bruke. You can contact them get detail information.

2. Bruker has quit making MSLs for quite sometime. I would check with
your local Bruker rep and see if they will support the microimaging
accessories for MSLs.

3. One of our six spectrometers is an MSL300.

Of course MSLs are long since discontinuted manufacture...though they are
fine spectrometers.

In a problem last year in our logic board Bruker could not come up with
a replacement board and admitted they did not stock everything for MSLs
anymore.

While there is good support still for the MSL from Bruker personnel and know
how it is clear that anything you bought would be used equipment for imaging
and well might not be repairable with any ease and you well might lose an
immense amount of time on board level repairs or trying desperately to find
a no-longer-stocked part from somewhere else.

I think it would be a mad waste of money to extend to any new hardware for
your MSL.

I will collect more information and proceed with caution. Thanks a
lot. Further comments and suggestions are still welcome. Please let me
know in case you have a chance to go to Far East.

Sincerely, Lou-sing 6/9/97 on Dragon Boat Day
