WORKSHOP ON BIOLOGICAL SOLID-STATE
NMR SPECTROSCOPY

June 28 and 29, 1997

THEME: This workshop will focus on technical issues related to studies
of biopolymers by solid-state NMR spectroscopy. Sample preperation, pulse
sequences, instrumentation, calculations, and other aspects of both
oriented samples and magic angle spinning approaches will be discussed.

FORMAT: The workshop will be arranged as sessions devoted to selected
topics with several talks by participants followed by discussions.

WORKSHOP LOCATION: All technical sessions will take place in the
Chemistry department at the University of Pennsylvania, 231 S 34th St.,
Philadelphia, PA 19104.

TRAVEL: The Philadelphia International Airport is 20 minutes from the
University. The taxis fare is $20. A $5 local SEPTA train can provide
transportation from the airport to University City (1 block from the Chem
building) or 30th Street Station (7 blocks from the Sheraton Hotel). Amtrak
train service along the Northeast corridor will bring you to the 30th Street
Station.

DATES AND TIMES: The workshop will begin on Saturday June 28,1997 at 10:30AM
until 5:00PM. On Sunday, June 29,1997, the workshop begins at 9:00AM until
5:00PM. Lunches and coffee breaks will be provided.

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS: A block of rooms has been set aside at the Sheraton,
University City Hotel (36th and Chestnut St., 4 blocks from the Chem.
building). The cost is $104.00 per night. When making reservations, refer
to the WORKSHOP ON BIOLOGICAL SOLID-STATE NMR. Reservation deadline is

REGISTRATION FEE: The registration fee of $25.00 will defray the cost of
the lunches and breaks on Saturday and Sunday. Checks should be made payable
