A few days ago I posted a request for information on small, structured
peptides that would give nice 1D and 2D spectra for a graduate class. I
received several replies, and the favorite recommendation was gramicidin-S
(in DMSO-d6), cyclic, 10 AAs. Another favorite was cyclosporin A or G, 11
AAs, cyclic, soluble in organic solvents. It was also pointed out that
small, structured peptide in aqueous solution was something of an oxymoron,
but that running in DMSO or TFE helped. I can supply the text of all
replies upon request.
Thanks to all,
