Dear All:

It's time to put this "voting" stuff to rest. For those of you in the
US, it at least provided a little practice for next month 8-). Don't
worry, the steering committee will continue to handle the nuts-and-bolts
of keeping AMMRL going...we _aren't_ going to start using up bandwith
to vote on every little thing.
------
The consensus is that it's OK to remove anyone from the listserver if
they post unwanted messages and ignore requests to stop. The final
tally is: 87 YES, 36 NO.
------
Many of the votes were "qualified", and I took the time to read all comments.
I share the popular view that those who've had the honor of being tagged
with the label "vendors" are a valuable part of our community, and should
not necessarily be singled out. That said, the vast majority feel that
advertisements/announcements not pertaining in any way to our reason for
existing are _not_ welcome. (our "mission statement" can be found on the
AMMRL homepage: http://www.chem.yale.edu/~bangertr/ammrl/ammrl.html.)

I hope we can continue to provide valuable services and assistance to
each other via AMMRL.

....now, let me make sure that I used only appropriate "phraseology"...
....now, check the dictionary...is "phraseology" a word?...
....shure enough, it is, and it's _not_ the "study of phrases"<humor alert>.

Best Regards to all,

Rich Shoemaker
