I'm not that much a purist regarding the Internet for commercials.
Also not sure which "commercial messages" people are bent about, but
probably MR resources. I've found them generally informative, but some
moderate rule of no more than say 2 per year from any one firm on AMMRL net
might be appropriate. We do depend on vendors to supply hardware to do our
experiments, and they do need to make money to stay in business. And we
would all be little poorer if MR Resources or any of the vendors were not
there. That's the way competition is supposed to work. It shouldn't come
as a surprise that NMR is an expensive experiment. The thrust of such
advertising is proposing a possible way for some people to do more for less
money. Finally, why are people so averse to using the "delete message" key
on occasion? Have people heard about the Eurora e-mail handling package
that has a very nice automatic filtering feature for incoming mail?
'Nuff said.
