In my experience these repairs are usually not easy. When the joint snapps off
the dewar usually goes soft, even if it doesn't the repair has to be done
without damaging the dewar through which the joint goes. In addition, our
dewars have all been quartz which many glassblowers won't work with.

This said, I do have a UK contact who will both repair and fabricate dewars at
prices much cheaper than instrument manufacturers. If anyoune wants the info
then please mail me privately.
