Jim,
We developed and use a pc based system to control and monitor instrument
useage. The pc has a list of authorized users for each instrument.
A bar code reader allows authorized users to enable or disable the
instrument. We usually dim the screen and disable pulse triggers.
The pc keeps track of when the instrument was enabled/disabled and
we use this for billing. There was talk of marketing the system,
but we lost electronic support so we may just be marketing schematics
now. The pc currently talks to a box with relays but a more modern
version would probably just have an I/O card in the pc. I can
get more information if you are interrested.

Does anyone need plotter paper for a Jeol FX-90Q, I have
5 packages free to the first request.....
also thermal paper for silent 700.
