probe repair alternative

Dear fellow spectroscopists,

Recently I had a pleasant experience with probe repair that I would like to
share with others.

The heating unit of our probe stopped working recently, since this is a high-resolution
probe I did not want to mess around with it too much. We also do not
have a service contract. The vendor offered a quote of at least $2000 for the
repair. We decided to try JS Research of Quincy, MA instead.

It turned out to be a really good choice. JS Research did the repair fast(less than a week),
well(it works beautifully now) and inexpensively(only charged less than one third
of what the vendor quoted). They were careful, responsible and courteous. They
explained the problem very carefully to me and informed me of the progress
every step of the way.

I think they are very experienced probe repair people too.

So for those of us who do not have service contracts on our NMR instruments,
this is a very good alternative.
