Aspect3000 Spectnet-PC

Dear Bruker Aspect 3000 user,
We are trying to get a connection from our Aspect3000 to a Pc using
spectnet--Pc, but keep getting bad control character messages. Bruker
can't say for sure what the proper settings are for the B RS232 port.
My breakout box shows the 2 and 4 lines low and the 20 line hi as a dte
device.My PC computer shows the same outputs. I have tried various
combinations of data bits and stop bits and parity without success.
Bruker says that the unit is either 8 data and one stop or 7 data and two
stop, and no one knows parity. They say hardware handshaking is required
and I assume this means connecting 4 to 20 on each side of the line and
reversing connections on lines 2 and 3, with line 7 an ground. Any
suggestions will be much appreciated.
