QE300

I WAS HOPING that this group might be able to help me with a problem on a
QE300 that I have encountered. We recently purchased a BB upgrade from a
non GE/Bruker source for our QE300. We are operating CHARM 13.1. In the
purchase the vendor gave us a coprocessor board for the 1280 (gratis). I
have installed it and it works fine BUT, for some reason all the 2D
experiments result in a garbage spectrum. There are essentially
correlations at all peaks in a COSY (for example). A HETCOR simply gives a
"ridge of noise" at each C13 peak. If I physically remove the COprocessor
from the computer and repeat the experiments with out changing anything I
get good spectra. Leaving the processor in and disconnecting it with the
c/p command still gives terrible data. Further, If I acquire a data set
without the coprocessor and the work up the data with the coprocessor in
the computer "by hand" (I.e., don't run the Macros) the data is fine.
Bruker has been unable to help me on this problem. I even talked to LeRoy
Johnson and he seemed a bit confused. An ex GE/Nicolet person mentioned
something about a "three board problem" that they (GE) encountered during
the development.
I run the system at a non research institution and have limited technical
knowledge. I would really appreciate any suggestions one might have (aside
from throwing the coprocessor or instrument away!)
