The replies were about half and half for the two sorts, with a slight
advantage for the rubber side, and one person reporting the use of
polyurethane rather than rubber. Among users of rubber lines, there was
some disagreement about what sort of rubber tubing was best; one person
advocated black and decried amber, while another person said just the
opposite. It sounds as though incidents of shattering tubing (as opposed to
more innocuous lengthwise splitting) are rare but dangerous.
I ended up ordering a 4' stainless line from Southland Cryo, but as I
eventually need two lines (one is for filling personal dewars) I will look
into the one by Cryofab as well. Perhaps I shall review the two when I have
used them both.
Cheers,
-B.
