I've had quite a bit of experience with 79Br, as both free ions, and "covalently"
bound species. Due to the assymmetric nature of the electronic environment of all
but simple ionic complexes, the line is expected to be EXTREMELY broad...i.e.
79Br bound to heme gave me s linewidth of ca. 28 KHz. I haven't checked the
electric quadrupole moment for 35Cl, but you'd expect something very broad.
T2 on these beasties can be a killer.
