To carpet or not to carpet?

To all nmr managers:

We are in the fortunate situation of purchasing new nmr systems and
refurbishing a room in which to install them. When one is this fortunate
such very important questions as to carpet or not to carpet arise. I would
like the opinion of the managers as to whether it is wise to carpet an nmr
room floor. The comfort and sound level advantages are obvious. However, we
are very concerned about static charge which could destroy the sensitive
electronics. If you have a carpeted nmr lab could you please let me know
about your experiences and which carpet you feel is the most anti-static. If
you just have an opinion that would also be welcome. I will post the results
if you think that this is something of general interest.

Many thanks,

Les
