I am the Glassblower for the University of North Texas and I use
Wilmad EPR sample tubes that I attach to a standard taper joint.
When I first put these on they seem to work all right but when I try
to reuse the joints again. They seal off the sample with torch.
The glass leaves a strain point at the seal that will not be relieved.
I know that I could simply use a new joint but my people want to
reuse them to save money.
Do you know why I am getting strain the second time and how I could
prevent this?
Paul noted something about subscibing to your service or mailing or
something, could you tell me more about what he was talking about?
Are you connected with the Berkely Labs glass shop?
Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
My E-Mail address is wsmith@cas1.edu.com at the University
and wsmith3858.aol.com at my home shop.
Thank you for any help you can give.
