Delete Problems in ADAKOS/DISNMR

Dear AMMRLS,
I have to agree with some previous posters, some of these "undocumented
features" (I guess, this is Microsoft terminology ?) in ADAKOS and DISNMR
can be quite annoying.
I clean up my spectrometer hard disks on the first Monday of each month.
Since I guarantee all the users, that their data files will stay on the
disks for at least 2 months I would prefer a method to delete only certain
files, but keep the procedure itself as simple as possible.
This is what I do:

-1- list all files within a given month into a disk file:
*SDIR:UD MON @01/10/95 /MO9510.TXT (for october 95)
-2- modify the generated file by adding a header and a trailer
with the program HEADER (by Charles Cottrell):
*RUN HEADER
input file: MO9510.TXT
output file: MO9510.EXE
header: DEL
trailer: :Y
-3- edit the file MO9510.EXE and delete all lines which would delete
system files, AU-programs, parameter files, etc.
-4- execute the cleanup program:
*EXE MO9510.EXE
-5- defragment the hard disk:
*PAC

This usually does not take too long.
Of course I keep a copy of all the important files in a separate partition,
to be able to recover them, if I delete them accidentally.

Maybe someone has an easier solution to perform these tasks.
