7:15 - 7:45pm Professional Genealogy of NMR (Vera Mainz)
In light of the historical aspect of this ENC, a talk on the
professional genealogies of some of our NMR luminaries. By professional
genealogies, I mean tracing people by their PhD advisor, and back until
you can't find any more info.
As part of a project of doing one for everyone in the Chemistry Department
at the UI I have traced Lauterbur, Gutowsky, Purcell, Pound,
Waugh, and Pinesi, and those will be the core material discussed.
The family "trees" will be put up somewhere for people
to look at.
