SPECTROSCOPIST
The position is for an NMR Spectroscopist in the Molecular
Spectroscopy Laboratory, School of Chemical Sciences, University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Requirements for this position
include a Ph.D. in chemistry, or extensive equivalent experience
with state-of-the-art NMR spectrometers; a thorough familiarity
with modern FTNMR spectroscopy; and the ability to work
independently and collaboratively in a stimulating research
environment. Experience is desired in devising or implementing
new FTNMR experiments (e.g., new 2D NMR pulse sequences), a
working knowledge of FT solid state NMR and EPR, as well as
experience with General Electric (Nicolet) and Varian Unity 400
and a Bruker ESP300 EPR spectrometer, the supervision of
instrument operators, and the instruction of graduate students and
postdoctoral fellows in NMR techniques.
A March 15, 1995 starting date is preferred, but other starting dates
can be negotiated. This is a regular, full-time position. The starting
salary is commensurate with experience. To ensure full
