For those of you who might be confused about the issue, my message to
Juergen Schulte over the AMMRL listserver regarding the N-14/N-15
typo was intended as a joke. I should have written "HEAVY SARCASM
AREA" at the top. This was quite evident to some people, but
others misinterpreted it as a mean spirited reprimand. I can assure
you that this was not the case.
One aspect of the AMMRL listserver that is unique is that it is a
place where we can ask each other for advice, whether it be about a
complicated point or a trivial one, without worrying about being
reprimanded (or stoned by the public). Other public bulletin boards
are much more hostile, with constant flame wars going on, with the
result that people become fearful of asking questions.
We all make mistakes. Juergen's was very minor. One of mine was
that message on to the AMMRL group which was unfortunately
misinterpreted by a number of people.
Good luck Juergen in your (new ?) position.
Sincerely,
Russ Bowers
