I have been contacted by several people as a result of my having conducted
the original salary survey. I often answer requests from people seeking to
hire magnetic resonance lab managers who are having trouble getting their
personnel departments to offer competitive salaries. I write letters to them
citing my data as well as that from other sources.
Since I appear to be trustworthy in that I didn't compromise anybody's
confidence last time, I hope the response to this request is good. This
time, in addition to asking just your salary, I would like to collect other
potentially useful information. If you answer from a country other than the
USA, please give a rough US dollar equivalent of the salary figure. I will
not include non-USA salaries in the statistics.
Please email me the following: (1) Your name, (2) your institution, (3) your
degree level, (4) number of years of relevant experience, (5) the number of
people reporting to you, (6) your gross annual salary, and (7) whether you
consider your local cost of living to be low, medium, or high. (Just guess
at this. I would call Carbondale low and New York or LA high.)
Thank you for your cooperation. I will post the results as soon as the
responses have stopped and I have time to compute the relevant statistical
parameters. Afterward, I will be happy to send letters to those of you
needing some data to throw at your personnel departments.
Bill
