We have acquired a 25 year old Varian Magnet system
consisting of: V7405 Magnet
VFR 2703 Power Supply
FIELDIAL MARK II Controller
We have no documentation covering any of these items.
Varian did not respond to my request for any archived data
on this system. Kinney Thiele at the inquiry desk of SRI
International gave me your name and suggested you might
pass my request around AMMRL. I am aware of the large
amounts of energy involved in a normal magnet of this size
from a number of years of experience with superconducting
magnets. Documentation would help with the safety aspect
and would help save us (You and me as taxpayers) money on
this research project.
