Magnet Safety

Friends,
I am trying to get our room ready for a 500 and our safety people have
asked me about the safety of the magnet during quenches and fires. They
want to install oxygen sensors to detect oxygen displacement, for example.
It has also been suggested that we arrange to vent the helium and nitrogen
gases to the outside. We are uncertain what to do to keep firemen from
getting stuck to the magnet when the lights are out and they have to enter
the room.
This room has two exits but they are right next to each other, and no
openable windows. The sole instrument in the room is the NMR and its
accessories.
The questions are: 1) What do YOU do for oxygen deprivation indiocation?
2) Do you have a permanent vent to the outside
for helium and nitrogen and how do you
do it? 3) What are the fire safety precautions you use?
Hope this doesn't bring back bad memories or induce night sweats.
Thanks,
Dan Bearden
