Varian vs Bruker shimming

I am currently involved in advising in the selection of a 500 Mhz NMR
spectrometer for one of our local biotech companies. I am curious as to the
impressions of users who have both Varian and Bruker NMR spectrometers as to the
ease of shimming using a mouse (Varian) or the keypad-knob (Bruker). I am only
familiar with the Bruker keypad-knob, and find it very easy to use. The older
Varian instrument here is of the 4 knob variety. It seems to me
like it would be difficult to use the mouse for shimming, but I haven't tried
it. Would anyone out there who has experience with both systems care to comment?
If it seems like there is anything worth summarizing, I will post a summary of
the responses.
Thanks in advance.
