Some of you might have heard of the recently released "incentive"
system just proposed and approved at U. Nebraska which will give Coach
Osborn (and B.Ball coaches as well) a $50K bonus for actually WINNING
the mythical National Championship in a few weeks, down in Miami!!
I then got this idea...what if we setup our own NMR LAB MANAGERS poll
(call it, say, the AMMRL poll) in which we elect one of our own to
be the "champion" NMR Lab manager for the year. If we could each get
our institutions to follow suit with the good ol' Big Red, one of us
could pocket some quick cash...IF we were to spread it around a little
(annually), then one by one we could each cash in!!! Since it's my
idea, I'd like to nominate myself to be the gunnea pig for the first
round (just to test it out,...the precedent at Nebraska has been set).
If I could get enough "first place votes", I could present them to our
esteemed Chancellor, along with my request for my bonus check!!!!! YES!!!
....mumble...mumble...he's GOT to be KIDDING!!!, Yeah, but the thought
struck me as JUST being goofy enough to share with the rest of you!!!
