Monitor problems on a GE QE Plus

This is my first attempt at posting something on the bulletin board so I
appologize for any mistakes in advance. We have a GE QE Plus in which the
monitor went "bad". We shipped it out to a computer repair shop and they
inform us that it "can't be fixed", which usually means they don't know how.
Has anyone had any success in having their monitors repaired and by whom?
Bruker wants to charge $450 for replacement (seems a little steep for a
CRT!). If anyone has any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful. To
avoid E-mail proliferation, please send your responses directly to me
and if there is enough interest, I will post a summary on the board.
