Would anyone in AMMRL have any comments on possible solutions to this
problem? If there is a Bruker e-mail list, I would be greatful to know

Subject: ADAKOS Time Stamps
Our Bruker AM-360 with an automatic sample changer accessory plays an
important role in handling the routine H,F and C NMR sample load for
Monsanto's R&D efforts at the St. Louis World Headquarters. This
spectrometer uses an Aspect 3000a data system running ADAKOS software
version 890201 and DISR91.
For 1994 we have been directed to rigorously record spectrometer
utilization. The AM-360 is used by 25-40 chemists and technicians in a
walk-up, open-access environement. We know of no way to have a password
based user log in/log out interface layered on top of the Bruker DISR
software. Unfortunately it is not acceptable to use a non-computer
based method to generate a usage database.
We are aware of the CCCCJOUR.NAL file described in the Bruker
Automation Manual. It is our understanding this file only contains
inforamtion about data acquistion and processing completion times. It
appears there is no way to establish when an acquistion was begun in
order to compute the total elapsed time used by each sample.
Is there anyway, without modifying the DISNMR source code, to record
the elapsed time for each sample?
If not, do you know of any academic laboratories in North America who
have the capability to modify DISNMR to generate an elapsed time file?
Do you have any other suggestions or advice as to how we can achieve a
computer-based record of instrument usage?
