We are looking for means to train a few new B.S. chemists who
recently joined our department in the basics of NMR spectral
interpretation. A.C.S. courses seem aimed at people who want to
attain *familiarity* with concepts of NMR spectral
interpretation, but we want our people to have a basic, *working*
knowledge. Is it really possible for a B.S. chemist to attend a
two-day course at an ACS meeting and come home ready to solve
problems using NMR?
The universities in our immediate area apparently do not offer
courses dedicated to NMR interpretation. Is there possibly a
week-long, intensive course analogous to the (excellent) IR
interpretation workshop offered at Bowdoin College in Brunswick,
Maine? I am trying to find a way to avoid having to do all this
training myself, but so far I see no way out of doing so. I will
appreciate any help, information or comments.
