Alas, the array processor on our aged Varian XL-400 has quit
working. I have been told that it is not a repairable item. A new board,
if available is prohibitively expensive. If anyone out there has
functional one in a system that is no longer in use or that is about to be
retired, and would be willing to part with it, please let me know. I will
gladly pay shipping and may even be able to raise a little cash if a
purchase is the only way you will part with it. The part number is
00-956728-00. Our users will be very grateful to have the faster processing
of the array processor again. Its none too speedy with it but its REALLY
slow without it even for 1-D.
I will be unavailable the next two weeks, but hope someone out there
can provide me with a pleasant surprise of an A/P available when I get back
on 27th.
