The next AMMRL meeting has been scheduled for Monday 1 Mar from 7-9 pm at
ENC in Orlando. We need to think about the program, and the steering
committee needs your help. I have listed below some possible topics-
please, please make comments, suggestions, addtions, etc.

Of major importance is volunteers to lead the sessions. You may volunteer
yourself or others.

Replies may be sent to me- karenann@unm.edu or to steer@wwitch.unl.edu

Session 1: "Tricks of the Trade- Software, Hardware, and Other Things to
Make a Lab Manager's Job More Manageable"

Possible ideas:

1) Computer Security- general? specific?
2) billing/record keeping- Unix boxes
non-unix boxes
3) Off- spectrometer processing
4) Training tricks/hints
5) Computer reservation system- this has been discussed a lot lately- do
we want to see/hear more details?
6) Hardware fixes, gimicks, tricks, etc.

Session 2: Stupid User Tricks:
subcatagories: VT
Explosions
Other

(Events must have happened in the manager's lab. NO service enginer
stories. Each manager may submit as many stories as s/he likes. A junta
(volunteers?) will narrow the entries down to 5 in each catagory, and the
members will vote by applause for the winner. Entries must be submitted
with a name (of the manager) but, upon request, we can descretely
eliminate the names from the final list. Winner gets????)
