My university was forced to shut down our JEOL ECX-300 in summer 2022 due to
spiraling cryogen costs. We have been searching for a permanent magnet/benchtop
instrument for teaching and undergraduate student research. (If anyone is
interested in the JEOL parts, please let me know.)
Do any subscribers have any experience or comments re: the Q Magnetics QM-125
benchtop NMR? It has only been available for the last two years or so.
It is a 125 MHz 1H / 19F single-channel benchtop instrument with a flow-through
sample injection system (no tubes or spinning required).
I am especially interested in the magnet stability, robustness of the
sample-injection system, and software. What affect does the absence of sample
spinning have on spectra?
I would like to hear about user experiences with this instrument from neutral users.
