Ken,
Is this probe tuning via a ProTune assembly? You might want to check that it's
not driving one of the sticks (like X Switch) to/past the end. Sometimes
re-indexing the motors helps with this as long as it's not that your ProTune
clutches are over-torquing or slipping.
If it's that the signal is going out, I'd also take a closer look at the
frequency source. Those single-board sources in the MR like to drop out
sections of frequency intermittently when they start going bad. You can switch
the cabling on the front of this board to flip channel 1 and 2. Both sides
can do the full range. Might patch you over while waiting on a new board if
that's the case. When I did it, the channel 2 cable was exact length, so since
this was a temporary fix, I just used two BNC adapters to extend it (see
picture). If you have an extra SMA<->BNC cable, that would be better.
