AMMRL: a side question

Dear all,

I know this group is for the NMR, but I thought someone who may know about MS in the group could help us. I am planning to buy a MS instrument for our medicinal chemistry (small molecular synthetic organic chemistry) division, budget about $100k. I am considering an ion-trap, because it can perform multiple stage MS/MS. If you could share, I would like to know your experience in using instrument from different vendors in terms of reliability and ease of operation. This is purely for my information only, so please send an email directly to me wli_at_uthsc.edu<mailto:wli_at_uthsc.edu>, and do NOT send to the AMMRL list, because we don't want to criticize/promote any vendors' instruments here, especially this is an NMR group.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Wei
