Job Description:
The successful candidate will apply skills in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance to sample analysis and discovery. The individual will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a 400 MHz Bruker Avance NMR spectrometer. The individual will perform all facets of NMR analysis assisting Research and Development, Product formulation, and customer support. Analyses will include but not limited to proton, heteronuclear, and 2D NMR and other state of the art experiments. Other areas of analytical expertise are also desired.
Basic Qualifications:
• Ph.D. degree in chemistry with emphasis on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance.
• Experience in areas of spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and chromatography.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in polymer analysis, both thermoset and thermoplastic.
• Experience in interpretation of NMR spectra.
• Experience with Bruker Avance NMR.
• Strong technical and process troubleshooting and problem solving ability.
• Familiar with all aspects of cryogen addition to NMR.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Communication skills; team player; leadership ability; planning and organizing skills, effective oral and written communication skills.
• PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Adherence to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated track record of working safely
