AMMRL: gradient shimming/diffusion exp

Dear all,

I am running into a few problem with my inova500. If i do a gradient calibration with autotest, i do get a nice profile. However when i do a shimmap, i do see a bad profile when the map is made, giving a rather wavy shimmap. The gradient profile during the shimmap making shows a spike in the middle. Any idea what causes this?
This does not seem to cause a problem for routine work, the shimming is still good, but one of the group runs pge (diffusion exp), and this problem with the gradient seems to be the cause of calibration issues with the water peak for their calibration of the diffusion constant. There's is an assymettry to the peak (the sequence has 2 gradient pulse)

Does any body have any suggestions?
