AMMRL: 2H NMR on Bruker Avance

This question is on behalf of a colleague in China, so consider the fact that I don't have an Avance console in front of me at the moment when answering! :)

How easy is it to do deuterium NMR (simple 1D) on an Avance? Any special hardware requirements?
