The Department of Chemistry is seeking a qualified individual to assist with
providing NMR services to industrial clients, graduate students and research
groups at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia (CANADA)

As an instrument technician with a strong background in nuclear magnetic
resonance (NMR) spectrometry working under the supervisor of the NMR
facility, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair
of scientific instruments used in research and teaching programs. You will
also analyze samples using NMR spectrometry to determine the structure of
compounds and instruct researchers on the use and operation of a range of
NMR spectrometers including aBruker AMX 400 and AMX 600 spectrometers, and
Varian Inova 500 and MercuryPlus 400 instruments.

Ideally, you have a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, and three years of
related experience in NMR spectrometry (including acquiring and interpreting
spectra). You will possess excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving,
communication and computer skills (including UNIX). For further details on
