My recent announcement of an upcoming biomolecular structure faculty
position in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry may have created the
unfortunate impression that I am the one doing the recruiting. While my
assistance (and, thereby, your assistance) has been welcomed in identifying
candidates, it is really the Department that is conducting the search and
not my facility.
An advertisement will appear soon and I ask you to encourage qualified
candidates to apply. I am certainly eager to correspond and talk with
anyone who has questions about the NMR operation, and I hope your efforts
will result in a larger field of candidates, but the search committee in
the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is running this process, not me.
