Thanks to many-many replies which I have received concerning the solution
of this problem. These comments were very friendly and helpful.

As it was pointed out, the solution is actually described in the Manual
(surprise!) in the section 9.7 of the XWINNMR Installation Guide, and some
possible solutions are also described in the Bruker FAQ Q704 at
  http://www.bruker-biospin.de/NMR/nmrsoftw/passwd/faq/faqalone/704.html .

Due to the lack of time and holiday/conference season only few of the
options were tried here thus far (it works, but not ideally yet), but I
cannot add a personal impressions yet about using VNC server. I'll post
more detailed summary (with added touch of personal experience) later, in
the end of September.

Best regards,
Sasha

Dear All,

We have Xwinnmr 3.5 running on SGI under IRIX6.5, and we would like to
login remotely to this SGI from Liux (SuSE 9.1) machine and to open there
Xwinnmr x-window. However, we are getting error message:

Xcpu: Cannot get visual class Pseudocolor
Please configure your X-server to
PseudoColor and 8 bit per plane.

Any suggestions how to do that, or how to solve this problem?

Best regards, and thanks in advance,
Sasha
