ANALYTICAL CHEMIST - NMR SPECIALTY (job code 362)
This company is a leader in specialty chemical design, development and
manufacturing. They specialize in agricultural intermediates, polymer
additives, and water chemicals. They are located in Indiana.
BS/MS chemist required. Will be responsible for running the NMR lab for a
large specialty chemical company. Responsibilities include the operation
and
troubleshooting of a Varian 300 MHz NMR with autosampler, multinuclear
capabilities and two probes. Provide NMR support to R&D, technical service,
applications, pilot plant operations in flame retardants, polymer additives
and some fine chemicals. Must have clear understanding of organic
structures
and functional groups required to interpret multinuclear NMR spectra. Other
duties will include some mass spec, general chromatography and the
development of new analytical methodologies using classical analytical
techniques. Familiarity with Unix is desired. Strong leadership potential
and communications skills required.
