At least on my systems, I only found Bob's failures. When "he" was
successful at changing /.rhosts to ++ he selectively erased the log
files. (Selective- SYSLOG and wtmp still existed- but did not show
any successful attempts. Entries before and after his access were
still there.)
The rpc files were in /etc (I think- can't find my notes).
