Non-default printers on Omega

Greetings Omegans and others out there.

Apologies for cross posting, but it occured to me that people other than
omega users may be able to relieve me of some of my unix ignorance.

We are using an old Omega/CSI system powered by an even older Sun 3/160. we
have never had a working printer attached to this instrument, but recently
we recieved a donated HP LaserJet 4 printer from the lab of one of our
users.

Unfortunately, the Omega software is only configured to accept LaserWriter
printers, and when you configure it for a "generic" printer, it asks you to
supply a new printcap file.

The local computer support people don't want to think about such old
systems, and this under-supplied lab has managed to lose the Sun Systems
Admin manual, altho all the manuals that tell me how to list a directory are
lying around the place!

Has any Omega user out there been thru the printer configuration problem
recently - or does anyone else have this sort of experience with a Sun
computer running old SunOS 4.0.3.

Many Thanks for any advice recieved

Ross
