duplicate posting.)
As you are aware, Otsuka Electronics has recently sold the Chemagnetics NMR
business to Varian Associates. Varian has acquired substantially all of
our NMR assets. However, Otsuka Electronics has retained an inventory of
Chemagnetics magnets, and we propose to make these magnets available to
investigators who are able to make use of them. Data at the bottom of this
message summarizes the information available on these magnets. Please
review it carefully to ensure that the magnet meets your needs.
Magnets are made available under the following terms:
1) If you are interested in one or more of these magnets, you may give us
a bid by mail at:
Otsuka Electronics USA Inc.
2555 Midpoint Drive, Suite A
Fort Collins, CO 80525
Attn: John P. Heinrich
or by fax at (970) 484-0487, or by e-mail at jph@oeus.otsuka.com
Questions may be directed to John Heinrich at the above addresses/number.
There is NO MINIMUM BID for any of these magnets. You may submit bids
until 5 p.m. Mountain time on November 14, 1997. The successful bidders
will be notified by November 21, 1997.
2) Once you have been notified of a successful bid, you must provide
Otsuka Electronics USA Inc. with a purchase order for the amount of the
bid. We will not invoice you under this purchase order until the magnet
has been installed. If the magnet fails to reach within 5% of its rated
operating field, you will not be charged for the magnet. However, the cost
of installation is your responsibility and will not be reimbursed by Otsuka
Electronics if the magnet fails to make field. Otsuka Electronics will
also not assume any other responsibility or liability for the failure of
the magnet to make field or for any other performance failure or any
resulting damages.
3) Varian/Chemagnetics has offered to provide installation services for
these magnets. Please contact Varian at (410) 964-3065 if you wish to make
use of their services. You are also free to make your own installation
arrangements. When we accept your purchase order, we will require you to
represent that the magnet will be installed within 30 days of arrival at
your site.
No exceptions to the terms (1-3) will be allowed.
We hope that these magnets will be of value to you as you pursue your
research programs.
Sincerely yours,
John P. Heinrich, Ph.D.
President and CEO Otsuka Electronics USA Inc.
