Would be good to know IF and HOW Bruker does alpha and beta testing of
their new versions of Topspin/Icon before releasing them.
I tested 4.2 on my laptop first and noticed something rather odd data
syncing within minutes. This, together with my previous experience with
Bruker software, was sufficient to postpone using 4.2.0 on
spectrometers. The plan was to wait for 4.2.2 or higher.
The most stable windows version to me was 4.0.6. In 4.0.7, Icon started
wiping *.set files with the list of samples queued and it was rather
embarrassing to email our users asking them to resubmit their samples again.
We have been using 4.1.3 for a while now and twice the *.set files have
become unreadable by Icon and I had to start a new queue and users had
to resubmit their long kinetics experiments. The confidence level in
switching to even 4.1.4 is very low.
