We have been using FACES
https://faces.ccrc.uga.edu/ since 2005.
FACES is hosted at the University of Georgia and is free to use.
Even though most of our users submit their samples to automation, we
still use faces when we need to take the automation offline to allow
users to do some hands-on experiments. We also use FACES as a
convenient way to send an email blast to our user base.
I found it to be very versatile. We could set different priorities and
rules on different spectrometers (resources), and assign individual
users to specific research groups. Then, at the end of the month, we
can get it to generate detailed accounting information.
