Hi Everyone,
Thanks to everyone who responded and gave suggestions and also to Bruker
for looking into the problem. What happened was we had a power outage and
our instrument didn't go down because it's on a UPS but our chiller, which
is connected to a wall outlet, did and it blew the fuses. I replaced the
fuses and ran 'cf' and 'ii' and the error message went away. I wasn't
connecting that a BSMS error had anything to do with the VT unit. I
thought the BSMS only controlled the lock, shims, cryogen levels, etc, and
rebooting the spectrometer and the BSMS didn't fix the problem. Also,
according to Bruker: "The BIS is the data about each device that is stored
on the device. This is how the system is made self describing. In this
case it seems that this data has become corrupted on one of the devices.
Unfortunately, the error message doesn't tell which device." So in
conclusion, if you receive a message like this, check to see if all of your
peripheral devices are working and rerun 'cf' and 'ii.'
Thanks,
Mark
