Howdy All
We have been limiting our training to using videos for our automated systems and then a quick checkout to grant users access to these systems. Seems to be working, but we are getting complaints that we are not doing training on the Varian systems (mostly full manual operation). Our normal training is 2 hours, of one on one just for normal use 1D. 2D and some special experiments are another 2 hours, then if you want VT it is another 2 hours. So we just are not doing these trainings, we have to be closer then 6ft to do these and just too much time next to 1 person. Also, the COVID committee has declared all of my rooms 1 person max occupancy. So this is really annoying that I have 1 committee saying no and another wanting me to make exceptions.
So how are y’all handling trainings? Anyone doing one on one in-person stuff?
We have had one PostDoc who had experience work with his new professor for 2 months then we put up video cameras in the room and did a 2 hour check-out with him that way.
