AMMRL: Alternate repair sources

Greetings to All,

Recently I've had an SGU board start to show signs of wear. We, like many Universities, run without service contracts due to the extreme price hike. Now it seems that our friendly Bruker people have increased the cost of replacement boards. For example I replaced an SGU board on an 850 and it cost ~$3,500 once they've received the old part back. The quote I got from Bruker last week put the same board at $35,765.10 which you now pay up-front and they credit you 40% back once they receive the old part which makes the cost of the part ~$21K.

Has anyone else seen the same price increase for parts? Does anyone use external repair sources for things like SGU's etc? If I get a huge response I will tabulate and post the list of companies that can make these repairs.

Many thanks to you all.

Stu
