Postdoc Position in Structural Characterization of a Membrane-Associated
Enzyme
Looking for an outstanding and highly motivated individual to start
immediately in a postdoctoral position to study structure and mechanism of a
membrane-associated enzyme involved in co-translational modification. The
project aims to elucidate the mechanistic and structural basis for the
enzyme function using a multi-disciplinary approach comprising X-ray
crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, and biochemical methods.
The candidate will focus on cloning, over-expression, purification,
biochemical characterization, crystallization, and X-ray crystal and NMR
structure determination of multiple protein subunits and protein-substrate
complexes.
The candidate should have a recent Ph.D. degree (in biochemistry,
biophysics, structural biology or related area) with a strong publication
record. In addition, the candidate is required to have substantial
experience in protein expression specifically in yeast, membrane protein
purification and reconstitution and protein crystallography. Proficiency is
required in troubleshooting and optimization of cloning, over-expression and
reconstitution of membrane proteins protocols. A high level of motivation
and good communication skills are required. Competitive salary and fringe
benefit will be provided. Requests for more information as well as
application that should include a cover letter stating your scientific
interests and goals, CV and contact information for 3 references can be sent
