Hi Fred,
We worked for the sprinkler head installation inside NMR room. An old Bruker DPX 400 MHz is an unshielded magnet. Regular steel pipe was installed.
The major requirements are installation for those piping and sprinkler heads. They should be installed away from the centre of the magnet with even distribution.
Best regards,
Alfred Kwan

Subject: AMMRL:Stainless steel sprinkler pipes in NMR labs
Hi all-
We are getting a sprinkler system installed in our NMR rooms and a contractor has said that stainless steel is harder to work with and more prone to leaks at joints than regular steel. If you have had a sprinkler system installed have you heard anything along those lines from anyone involved in the installation?
Thanks in advance!
