--------------------------------------------------

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It gives us a great pleasure to inform you the workshop to be held at the
Academia Sinica (AS) in Taiwan on December 3-6, 2013. There will be a formal
announcement through the academic journals and society announcements,
however we would like to personally invite you to the event so you can mark
your calendar as soon as possible, if interested. This workshop was proposed
by Professor Senyon Choe of Salk in NIH R13 application, which was
administratively inactivated due to the shortage of funds.

We have the pleasure to host this workshop, The first Workshop on Membrane
protein structures by Cell-Free synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, and Molecular
Dynamics (CNDY), in Taiwan this year. The goal of the CNDY Workshop is to
disseminate the novel technologies to 20 Workshop participants to enrich
their own research dealing with membrane proteins. The participants will
have a hands-on experience to become skilled in the novel methods to apply
these key technologies in the structural studies of membrane proteins. We
believe this will be instrumental for drug discovery efforts in the
pharmaceutical industry in the upcoming future. The Workshop is partly an
outcome of a recent paper in Nature Methods (Klammt et al., 2012) from
Professor Choe's group. We encourage participation of students and young
investigators both from academia and industry in the field of membrane
protein structural biology. Please visit our website for more information at
http://tmpc.ibc.sinica.edu.tw/CNDY

Please join us at AS, for what will be a wonderful experience on the
cutting edge of membrane protein structural biology. Please mark your
calendar and look out for the next announcement. In the meantime, please
feel free to forward this email and the attachment to those who you think
may be interested in the CNDY workshop.

 Sincerely,
 Andrew H.-J. Wang, Academia Sinica
 Ming-Daw Tsai, Academia Sinica
 Tai-Huang Huang, Academia Sinica
