Position

Postdoctoral Research Associate working on systems and devices for image-guided Therapy.
This is a 12-month full-time position, renewable for a second year contingent on
performance.

Responsibilities
The Biomedical Computing and Devices Lab (Director: Punit Prakash) seeks a highly
motivated candidate to lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of RF
instrumentation for delivering hyperthermia integrated with an ultra-high field (14 T),
small-animal MRI system. The successful candidate will work closely with an
interdisciplinary team of investigators from Engineering, Chemistry, and Veterinary
Medicine to implement an integrated image-guided hyperthermia platform for targeting
cancer and infectious disease in small-animal models. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Developing simulation-based tools (electromagnetic and multi-physics modeling
techniques) for designing RF hyperthermia applicators.
2. Fabrication, benchtop testing, and integration of hyperthermia delivery hardware
within the MRI environment.
3. Development of strategies for MRI-based monitoring and control of thermal therapy
procedures.

Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in engineering, medical/applied physics, or
related area, and have experience (as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications) in one or
more of the following areas: (1) applicator design for electromagnetic hyperthermia, (2)
design and evaluation of RF coils and instrumentation for MRI, (3) MRI guided
interventions. Candidates with experience using RF test and measurement equipment,
electromagnetic and multiphysics simulation tools, and/or small-animal MRI systems are
highly desired. Other qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills
and a history of academic proficiency.

To apply, candidates should submit the following documents via email to prakashp_at_ksu.edu:

(1) a statement describing how their educational and research
experience relate to the qualifications for this position, (2) a curriculum vitae , and (3)
